Hi! I have served with dedicated and passionate teams at the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) for nearly 9 years. I work on and follow health policies. 

Last year, the One Big Beautiful Bill (or HR 1) was passed, which led to 180,000 people in LA County losing their food benefits. In January 2027, additional policies will be implemented, and officials expect 660,000 people in LA County to lose their health care. We know that supporting our clients in meeting their basic needs in the next few years will be critical. Remember, these policy changes are happening in the midst of high gas prices and increasing grocery bills. 

The Health and Human Services (HHS) Fund’s Direct Client Support initiative helps Long Beach community members overcome some those barriers by providing resources for urgent health and basic needs. Your donation gives Health Department program participants additional support when they need it most. 

Join us in supporting Long Beach neighbors with essential health needs. 

• $25 could give an older adult a ride to a medical appointment
• $50 could provide basic hygiene products for someone experiencing homelessness
• $100 could give a single mom of three groceries for a week
