Leadership Long Beach - A Lasting Legacy

Long Beach Gives is here — and I’m asking you to support an organization that has had a tremendous impact on me personally: Leadership Long Beach. 💙

I graduated from the Leadership Long Beach Institute in 2016, and what I gained went far beyond a leadership program. I found friendships, a deeper connection to the city I love, and a much greater understanding of what it means to show up and serve my community. Ten years later, I’m incredibly proud to serve as Board President.

But one of my favorite Leadership Long Beach stories isn’t about me at all.

Years ago, an Institute class had an idea for their class project: What if we created a Leadership Long Beach experience specifically for young people?

That class project became the Youth Leadership Long Beach program — and today, it continues to give high school students the opportunity to discover their own leadership potential, learn about their community, build relationships with students from across the city, and see firsthand that they have the ability to make a difference.

And here’s the part I really love: the Youth program is completely tuition-free.

That means a student's ability to participate isn't determined by their family's ability to pay.

That’s what your Long Beach Gives donation helps make possible.

Leadership Long Beach is an investment that keeps multiplying. Someone participates. They learn. They connect. They get an idea. They act on it. And sometimes, that idea becomes a program that changes the lives of young people for years to come.

That is my why.

If you believe in developing the next generation of Long Beach leaders — and giving every young person the opportunity to see themselves as one — I hope you’ll join me and make a gift to Leadership Long Beach during Long Beach Gives. 💙

Every gift matters. Every amount helps. And you never know which future Long Beach leader your gift might be helping today.
