Playmakers is a volunteer-led nonprofit that provides adaptive sports and recreation programs for kids and adults with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities in a welcoming, safe environment.

If you’ve never heard of adaptive sports, get ready to…Playmakers offers sports and recreational programs that are specifically designed to provide a place for children and adults with various disabilities to play in a fun and safe environment. From renting the most accessible sports facilities we can find, to personally-tailored coaching methods, we do everything we can to break down barriers so our players can join in the action and have fun! Our coaching staff, volunteers, and “Buddy” teams (local high school baseball and softball teams) are dedicated to customizing their techniques and methods to take into account each player's abilities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn new skills and improve their game.

Now that you’re an adaptive sports fan like us, we invite you to support Playmakers during the 2024 Long Beach Gives campaign and show your love for our adaptive sports. Your support will ensure everyone has a place on a roster in Long Beach and can experience the joy that sports and recreation bring to our community.

How donations will be used:
Every donation made to our campaign will go towards expanding our program offerings and enhancing the experiences of our players. Gifts will provide us with sports/program equipment, facility rentals, ensure our program registration fees remain affordable for our incredible families, and more.
