Support MTW Student Matinees: 

We’re raising $30,000 to support Musical Theatre West’s Student Matinee Program, giving thousands of students the opportunity to experience the magic of live, professional musical theatre. Through Student Matinees, students in grades 1–12 attend specially scheduled performances of MTW productions, often experiencing live theatre in a professional setting for the very first time. Each participating school also receives a student study guide, helping teachers and students connect the production to meaningful classroom learning. For many students, this experience goes far beyond a field trip. It opens their eyes to new stories, ideas, careers, and possibilities and creates a lasting connection to the arts.

Heading Toward our 75th Anniversary Season: 

For over 70 years, Musical Theatre West has brought Broadway-quality musicals to Southern California. Founded in 1952 as the Whittier Civic Light Opera, we’ve grown into one of the region’s most respected professional theatre companies. In 2027, we’ll celebrate our 75th Anniversary Season with five exciting productions that honor our legacy and look toward the future, alongside enriching education and outreach programs that connect audiences of all ages and backgrounds with the power of live theatre.
