Provide a musical experience for children

I hope you’ll consider making a donation to support Musical Theatre West (MTW) during Long Beach Gives. 

I’ve been fortunate to grow up in a family that introduced me to the wonders of music at a young age. Whether through music lessons, live musical performances, or concerts, music in some form has always been a meaningful part of my life.

Last year, I had the opportunity to sit in on an MTW student matinee and was completely immersed in the experience of seeing and hearing a theatre filled with excited LBUSD students anticipating Into the Woods. Before the performance, students were introduced to theatre etiquette, and afterward they had the opportunity to meet the performers and ask their own questions.

It was especially fun for the students to discover that one of the musical theatre performers had attended LBUSD schools. Moments like that can make the arts feel personal and attainable.
