Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach (BGCLB) provides after-school and full-day summer programs that help Long Beach youth learn, grow, and discover what’s possible beyond the classroom. This year, we are inviting the Long Beach community to help fund field trips that give our exceptional youth opportunities to explore new places, new ideas, and new futures.
Field trips are a crucial and important part of our Club members' development. By sparking curiosity and fostering a sense of wonder, field trips make education more dynamic and memorable, and meaningful. Educational field trips do more than deepen academic understanding, they create lasting impressions and inspire future passions. From trips to the Griffith Observatory, to tours of local colleges, we provide as many experiences as we can to make new memories for our Club members and show them a world that is outside of their neighborhoods.
For many of our Club members, these experiences might not otherwise be accessible due to financial barriers. That's why raising funds for field trips is so important.
- More than 4,200 youth across 14 Club sites discover new opportunities through BGCLB each year
- 86% of members rely on community support to access experiences beyond their neighborhoods
“Without the Club, I never would have gotten to go to Catalina Island. I saw so many animals and helped clean up the beach area. It was so much fun!” - Robert, 13 year old Club Member
“When we visited USC, I could actually picture myself there one day.” - Natalia, 15 year old Club Member
Every dollar helps ensure that participation is based on interest and opportunity - not a family's ability to pay - allowing all youth to fully learn and grow without added financial burden.
