My husband Rolf died of Covid-19 in 2021. It was surreal to go from living and working with him everyday to being completely on my own in our home. Overnight, I had to learn how to navigate being a young widow in a world that just keeps on going all while I had suffered an incredible loss. I felt so alone.

Common Ground Grief came into my life as an internship, but it quickly became my safe space. I learned that there are so many grievers that experienced a lot of what I experienced and I wasn't alone!

It is my goal as a volunteer grief group facilitator to ensure that our community can help as many individuals as possible through their journey with grief.

Common Ground Grief does tremendous work in grief education, advising professionals and others on how to help grievers navigate life without their lost ones. This is incredibly important work due to the fact that grief education is severely lacking amongst mental health professionals and often times, society just doesn't really know what to do when someone suffers a significant death. (It was my own experience that my therapist a the time of Rolf's death knew very little in how to help me in my early grief and many of my friends made me feel so ostracized.)

Please join me in making a donation towards this outstanding organization that has not only changed my life, but the lives of so many other grievers. Your funds go towards peer support groups, family workshops, grief camps, education, and remembrance experiences — offered free or at low cost to every family who needs them.
