Support Lucy's Feeding the Future at CSULB & LBCC!

Hi, I'm Lucy Johnson. I have been involved with various activities in Long Beach off and on since I was a child splashing in the ocean outside the now (sadly) demolished Pacific Coast Club. In 1980 I moved to Long Beach, and found everything I need and love right here. 

Now retired, I keep busy volunteering for various activities on behalf of nonprofit organizations, including as a member of the Rotary Club of Long Beach. I am supporting raising funds through Long Beach Gives 2026 on behalf of the Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation's "Feeding the Future" program.

I am a huge believer in quality education for everyone. I also know the stress of being in college on a very tight budget. "Feeding the Future" provides food and personal hygiene items for financially struggling students at both Long Beach State and Long Beach City College, many of whom are not sure where or when their next meals will come from. 

Hungry students find it difficult to focus on their studies!

This academic year, Rotary members are filling 2,000 bags, 1,000 for each college, with the food and hygiene products most requested by the students.
