Across Long Beach, rising housing costs are making it harder for longtime residents and working families to stay in the neighborhoods they have helped shape. The Long Beach Community Land Trust (LBCLT) is working to create a different future: one where homes stay affordable for generations and residents have a meaningful say in their communities.

LBCLT is working to acquire a 28-unit building in North Long Beach and bring it into permanent community ownership. We’ve already put down a deposit, marking an important step toward protecting these homes and keeping them affordable for the long term.

Mission

Long Beach Community Land Trust is a member-led organization that works to create a dignified and healthy life for diverse communities in Long Beach by: Advocating through local public policy and coalition-building efforts to secure resources for the development of community assets; Developing permanently affordable housing and stewarding housing, land, and community spaces through community ownership models; and Building community power through community gatherings, workshops, political education, and membership access to decision-making and resources for organizing.
