About UCC

For over 40 years, UCC has been a cornerstone of the Cambodian community, fostering local engagement and leadership rooted in Cambodian cultural values. In the year, UCC serves over 4,000 community members through programs focused on health equity, community integration, youth enrichment, and economic inclusion. Currently, UCC is concentrating on the following key areas:

Health Equity

The Health Equity Program is dedicated to empowering the wellbeing of Cambodian community members.  This 2024 - 2025 FY, the Health Equity Department consists of 3 programs: the Community Wellness Program (CWP); the Parenting Skills Program (PSP); and the Long Beach Justice Fund program (LBJF).  During the period, there were over 300 seniors enrolled and served in the CWP, enhancing both their physical and mental health, especially to educate them how to age well; more than 200 young families and caregivers had been served and educated on improving the relationship among multigenerational families, in the PSP; and over 70 undocumented and documented Cambodian immigrants had been served and enrolled in the LBJF.  Additionally, over 350 case management services had been provided to the program participants as well.  This year, we also connected over 300 unique community members with food boxes and grocery vouchers, donated by local agencies and by the D4 Office, including the AUHS, Performance Plus Tires, and Supervisor Janice Haun.

Economic Inclusion

The Economic program offers a variety of resources and support tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners. By prioritizing accessibly and inclusivity, we provide resources in Khmer to ensure all community members can benefit. Our services include business counseling access to capital, technical assistance and a range of workshops and webinars. Whether starting or expending or business, we are here to guide and support entrepreneurs every of the way, fostering economic growth and sustainability in Cambodia Town and throughout Long Beach.
