When tragedy strikes, police officers, firefighters, and healthcare professionals respond to the emergency. But survivors are often left overwhelmed, frightened, and unsure what to do next.

That is when TIP of Long Beach’s volunteer Second Responders step in.

Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, our specially trained volunteers respond throughout Long Beach and Signal Hill to provide immediate emotional first aid, practical assistance, and a calm, compassionate presence.

We sit with people during the first overwhelming hours. We help them understand what is happening, identify immediate needs, contact loved ones, access essential resources, and take the next difficult step.

Most importantly, we make sure they do not have to face tragedy alone.
